About Me

I support legislation to enforce the use of the Oxford comma.  I delight in the absurdities of daily life.  I’m a history junkie.  By day, I work as an academic reference librarian.  By night, I read, write, and practice (with mixed success) the craft of bookbinding.  I live in Texas with my husband and a house full of rescue animals.

I have written on American history and golden-age Hollywood.  My books include the prize-winning volume Trading in Santa Fe (SMU Press 1996), and Fiasco:  George Clinton Gardner’s Correspondence from the U.S.-Mexico Boundary Survey (SMU Press 2010), both co-edited with the late David J. Weber; and Alice Faye: A Life Beyond the Silver Screen (2002), for the University of Mississippi Press’s Hollywood Legends series.
